O Dia do Vidro Marinho * The Sea Glass Day

Este fim-de-semana esteve calor. Já sentia saudades do tempo quente ao fim-de-semana! Desde que a Primavera começou tem feito belos dias de calor durante a semana e  mau tempo ao fim-de-semana! É uma injustiça! Adiante!...

Cá em casa o meu filho e o meu marido acordam quase sempre primeiro que eu... Eu é que sou a dorminhoca!

No Sábado, o meu marido veio acordar-me com carinho, dizendo-me que o meu pequeno-almoço já estava prontinho à minha espera, porque estava uma manhã bem quente e perfeita para ir até à praia.

Não demorou muito até sairmos de casa em direcção à praia. Quem segue a DeCris Creations no Facebook pôde ver que às 08:29 da manhã estava a lançar o convite...

Foi uma manhã excelente! Quando chegámos à praia estava muito pouca gente no areal e fomos andando até ao nosso "canto" preferido, depois dos cafés e restaurantes. Andámos mais um pouco porque eu quis ficar perto de uma acumulação de pedras trazidas pelo mar e instalámo-nos, estendemos as toalhas e tomámos as devidas precauções por causa do sol. Aqui começa o meu divertimento!

Ir à praia nunca mais foi o mesmo a partir do momento em que eu descobri o Vidro Marinho! Costumava gostar de me deitar ao sol, ou sentar-me a apreciar a vista e os comportamentos - às vezes bizarros - das pessoas... Agora, desde o momento em que chego à praia até ao momento e que tiro o pé da areia só vejo o areal, só olho para baixo... é mais forte do que eu! Apanhei o vírus de procurar Vidro Marinho! No Sábado de manhã, nem cheguei a sentar-me na toalha! Um olhar para as pedras foi o suficiente para encontrar o primeiro pedaço de Vidro, depois outro, e mais outro... 

Eu, o meu marido e o meu filho passámos três horas na praia. Nessas três horas só parei de procurar as belíssimas Lágrimas de Sereia por duas vezes, e apenas para dar uns mergulhos rápidos para me refrescar! Entre os três, encontrámos mais Vidro Marinho do que em semanas de procura. O mar foi generoso, o Vidro é lindo, encontrámos peças grandes e pequenas, de vários tons de verde e castanho, branco, aqua e até azul!

Estou tão feliz com a "colheita" de Sábado!!!

Domingo foi dia de tirar fotografias. Ontem foi dia de as editar e começar a escrever. Hoje é dia de as partilhar convosco:

Colecção de castanhos... Surpreendentemente poucos!

Colecção de verdes... Muitos, como de costume! Isto não quer necessariamente dizer que haja mais verdes do que outras cores, como o branco e o castanho, apenas que são muito mais fáceis de ver!

O tesouro do dia, completo, cada cor na sua concha, como pérolas preciosas!

Brancos e azuis-água. Alguns dos azuis são tão clarinhos que só se nota que o são em contraste com os brancos!

Os brancos da direita parecem mais acinzentados por causa da sombra.

A jóia da coroa!

O meu primeiro pedaço azul, mesmo azulão!

Nesta foto vê-se bem a diferença entre a "jóia da coroa" e os outros azuis!

Sonho com encontrar outros azuis, quem sabe um berlinde ou dois, devidamente polidos pelo oceano. Vermelhos e laranjas também estão na lista sonhada!

This was a hot weekend. I missed the warm weather on weekends! Since Spring begun we've had beautiful warm days during weekdays and bad weather on weekends! It is an injustice! Moving forward!...

In my home my son and my husband always wake up before I do... I'm the sleepyhead!

This Saturday, my husband woke me up lovingly, telling me he had just made my breakfast and it was just waiting for me, because it was a beautiful hot morning, perfect to go to the beach.

Before long we left home towards the beach. Those of you who follow DeCris Creations on Facebook could see that I was posting the invite at 08:29...

It was an outstanding morning! When we got to the beach there were very few people on the sand and we walked to our favorite spot, after all the coffee shops and restaurants. Then we walked a bit further because I wanted to be next to a bunch of stones and pebbles the sea had brought to the sand and we settled in, put our towels in the sand and took the necessary sun-protecting precautions. Here begins my fun!

Since I discovered Sea Glass, going to the beach has never been the same! I used to like to lay in the sun, or sit enjoying the view and observing the behavior - sometimes quite odd - of the people around... Now, from the second I arrive at the beach to the moment my foot leaves the sand all I can look at is the sand, I only look down... It's stronger than me! I got the Sea Glass hunting bug! Last Saturday morning I didn't even sit in my towel! One look at the pebbles was enough to find the first piece of Sea Glass, then another, and another...

Me, my husband and my son spent three hours at the beach. In these three hours I only stopped beachcombing for these beautiful Mermaids Tears twice, and just to take some quick plunges in the ocean to cool off! Among the three of us, we found more Sea Glass than in weeks of beachcombing. The ocean was generous, the Glass is gorgeous, and we found large and small pieces in various shades of green and brown, whites, aqua and even blue!

I'm so happy with Saturday's finds!!!

Sunday was picture taking day. Yesterday was the day I edited the photos and started writing. Today is sharing day:

This picture really shows the different shades of blue and green.

Collection of browns... Surprisingly few!

Collection of greens... Lots of them, as usual!
This doesn't necessarily mean that there are more green than other colors, like white and brown, just that they're a lot easier to spot!

The day's treasure, complete, each color in its seashell, like precious pearls!

Whites and aquas. Some of the aqua are so pale that one can only tell they're blue when comparing them with the white ones!
The whites on the right look greyish because of the shadow.

I dream of finding other blues, maybe a marble or two, properly frosted by the ocean. Red and oranges are also on the dream list!
