Ainda na encomenda personalizada / Still working on the custom order

Ok...

Terminados os anéis, chegou a altura de fazer a segunda parte da encomenda da MJ. Mais uma vez usando os vidros que lhe trouxeram de Marrocos, mas agora para fazer um pendente triplo. Acho as cores destas três pecinhas fantásticas e este pendente tem que ficar um espanto!

Sim, estão a ver bem, têm fita-cola por baixo! Foi a forma que eu encontrei de apontar a ordem por que elas seriam usadas! O pendente vai começar com a peça mais pequena, cor de pêssego, seguida da violeta e por fim a peça maior, que é a roxa, conforme a cliente me pediu.

Batalhei com várias ideias, várias formas de fazer este pendente. Originalmente, tinha pensado fazê-lo todo por inteiro com os mesmos pedaços de arame, mas depois alguém me perguntou se não ficaria com um ar demasiado rígido e... Sim, realmente é capaz de ficar com um ar muito hirto e perder a beleza que o movimento lhe pode conferir. Por isso, está decidido que farei as três peças independentes entre si, unidas por uma pequena argola para que possam balançar e movimentar-se livremente, mostrando desta forma sua beleza de vários ângulos.

Passo seguinte: admirei as cores das peças de vidro e comparei-as com as diversas cores de arame de que disponho e resolvi fazer o pendente todo com arame banhado a prata porque me parece ser a cor mais adequada e que combina melhor com as dos vidros.

Comecei a trabalhar na peça roxa este fim-de-semana...

Se tudo corresse como planeado, por esta altura já tinha feito três pendentes! Na primeira tentativa o arame foi para o lixo! Na segunda, desisti e pus o arame de lado porque, às tantas já não conseguia fazer nada dele!

A terceira tentativa está em progresso. Espero que seja desta!

Estas simples e lindas peças de vidro estão a ser um desafio maior do que eu estava à espera, e eu até posso refilar, mas... Estou a adorar!

The rings are finished and now it's time to make the second part of MJ's order. Again using the glass pebbles a friend brought her from Morocco, but this time to make a triple pendant. The colors of these three little pebbles are beautiful and this pendant must look amazing!

Yes, there's nothing wrong with your eyesight, it's duck-tape they have underneath! It was the way I found to wite down the order they would be used! This pendant will start with the smaller, peach-colored pebble, in the middle stays the violet one, and on the bottom the bigger pebble which is the purple one, according to the client's instructions.

I struggled with several ideas, several ways to make this pendant. I had originally thought of making it in a whole piece, all in the same, very long, wires, but then someone asked me if that wouldn't make it look stiff and... Yes, it really could look too stiff and the beauty that movement could provide would be lost. So, it's settled that I'll make three independent pieces and attach them with a small jump ring, so they can dangle and move freely, thus showing off their beauty in different angles.

Next step: I admired the color of the three glass pebbles and compared them to the several different wire color that I have and decided to make the pendant with silver plated wire, because it seem to me that it is the color that best suits the colors on the glass pebbles.

I started working on the purple glass pebble this weekend...

If everything went acconding to planned, by now I would have made three pendants! On the first try, I threw the wire out! On the second, I gave up and set the wire aside because, it came a point that i couldn't work with it anymor!

The third try is a work in progress. I hope this is the one!

These simple and beautiful glass pebbles turned out to be more of a chalenge than I expected, and I may complain about it but... I'm loving it!
